DaVita Clinical Research is seeking a REMOTE Epidemiology Manager to work on its a top tier Health Economics Outcome Research team performing high end work for internal and external clients.

About this Opportunity:
This position will require advanced knowledge and experience managing and analyzing administrative claims data to assess health care utilization and cost outcomes to critically assess the impact of disease management and integrated care management programs.  The ideal candidate will have both claims experience and a solid understanding of the epidemiologic and statistical methods used to control for confounding and effect modification in order to function autonomously in a virtual work environment.
 
More specifically this position will be responsible for:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
  • Creation of study protocols for analysis of observational and prospective studies as well as abstracts, posters, and manuscripts
  • Design and execution of data analyses of descriptive statistics, predictive models, comparative effectiveness, and patient outcomes using retrospective claims and electronic medical record data
  • Ability to interpret and communicate sophisticated epidemiologic results to both management and clients that have limited technical knowledge
  • Create study reports for internal and external clients, present at major national conferences, and publish in top tier journals
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:
  • Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
  • Travel required: up to 15%

 ARE YOU THE ONE?
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.
  • PhD or DrPH in epidemiology or
  • Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or biostatistics with two (2) years' experience in epidemiologic studies or health outcomes research in an academic, government, or commercial setting
  • Demonstrated experience with retrospective data analysis required
  • Ability to recognize, understand, and address issues of confounding using standard and advanced methods such as propensity score matching, instrumental variables analysis, and marginal structural modeling
  • Experience with claims data and large health care data sets highly desired
  • Advanced proficiency in SAS or other statistical language required (SAS preferred)
  • Ability to manage large databases and efficiently manipulate data for all analytic needs
  • Highly proficient with statistical tools and graphing capabilities
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
