ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
QUALITY OUTCOMES
·         Assist in the development, review, revision, and roll out of clinical policies and procedures and/or education materials
·         Participate with the Regional Director and Facility Administrator in the identification and development of facility specific education and outcome goals
·         Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the goals to achieve desired results
·         Benchmark facilities outcomes, identify and share best practices
·         Coordinate the review and investigation of sentinel adverse occurrences and participate in the plan of correction and follow-up as requested
·         Assist facility CQI team members to maximize resources and strengths within their region to solve quality improvement challenges
·         Provide training and monitor the implementation of clinical policies and procedures in the facility
·         Ensure quality management programs are in place and functional in the facilities
·         Participate in the QA/QI meetings quarterly to ensure areas for improvement are addressed and appropriate action plan is formulated per policy and procedure
·         Perform facility audits as indicated per audit policy and provide support in developing a plan of correction.  Work with the Facility Administrator and Regional Director to ensure implementation and resolution of deficiencies 
·         Provide timely submission of all reports and data collection requests to Corporate support teams
 
EDUCATOR
  • Provide training and monitor the implementation of clinical policies and procedures in the facility
  • Implementation of the education programs to include, but not limited to, new teammate theory classes and teammate development.
  • Monitor, trend and report outcomes in the facility and assist the quality improvement team to improve outcomes
  • Facilitate the registration process, scheduling of classes, and coordinate logistical details of classroom management
  • Provide direction to the preceptor following the initial training program and with ongoing support and mentoring
  • Assist in the development of patient education programs as requested
  • Ascertain specific training needs in the division/region and implement a plan to address these needs
  • Assist in preceptor training program(s) as assigned
  • Monitor state regulations to ensure DaVita training programs meet or exceed requirements
  • Provide continuing education and in-services/materials to teammates and patients to improve knowledge base and to meet regulatory and safety requirements on an as needed basis.
  • Provide timely submission of all reports and data collection requests to Corporate support teams
  •  Support management training as needed
  • Assist in corporate and/or division initiatives and special projects as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, including computer skills as required.
  • Current license as RN in state of practice
  • Education commensurate with above licensure/registration
  • Bachelor's degree in associated field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years' (five years preferred) nephrology experience
  • CNN or CDN, Bonent certification within two years of employment strongly preferred
  • Experience in CQI methodology and techniques preferred
  • Experience in teaching the adult learner strongly preferred with demonstrated ability to communicate technical/medical information in lay terms as necessary
  • Scheduling flexibility and ability to travel required.   This travel will mostly be in South Texas including Corpus Christi, Victoria, Harlingen and surrounding areas.
  • Current driver's license in state of residence and insurable driving record required
  • Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel and Power Point with ability to create presentations and use the Internet effectively required
