Authorization / Referral Specialist Summary: This position is responsible for contacting third party payers or the centers to ensure the timeliness of authorizations and referrals for the purpose of getting paid for services rendered. Also, reporting that information to the centers. Responsibilities: Acquire timely receipt of authorizations/referrals for dialysis and medications which ever is required. Enter authorization and referrals into QMS. Communicate with centers the receipt of authorizations and referrals. Communicate with Manager and Manage Care Department changes or additions to insurance requirements concerning authorization and referrals. Run QMS reports to distinguish insurance carrier and patients who need authorization/referrals. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, One year of experience of medical insurance experience preferred, strong communication skills, ability to use keyboard, MS Word, Outlook, and fax.
