Job Description: 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

The purpose of this position is to conduct business tax return preparation and compliance requirements for state and local sales/use, personal property, gross receipts, unclaimed property, and all other non-income tax returns to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Accurate and timely preparation and filing of the tax returns listed above.
  • Research, analyze, and make sales and use tax decisions regarding taxability of purchases.
  • Resolution of inquires from taxing jurisdictions by phone and/or correspondence.
  • Prepare monthly tax accruals, account reconciliations, and reports.
  • Tax research, application, and documentation.
  • Maintenance of Sales and Use Tax Matrix.
  • Participate in audit preparation and research projects.
  • Communication with other departments to resolve issues and improve process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.

 

  • Ability to propose solutions and make decisions.
  • Must have good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Level 6 Education: Bachelor's degree (BA) from four year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with S&U tax audits and analytical research for audit resolutions preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle modules between AP, GL, FA, and PA preferred.
  • Experience with S&U tax return preparation and compliance preferred.
