Senior Financial Analyst

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

This position is responsible for supporting process improvements, metric/report development, special projects, and providing detailed revenue valuation analysis to ensure departmental goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values.  This includes supporting processes for accounting for center and divisional revenue review, accounts receivable, cash and related transaction analysis, account reconciliation and preparing financial reports for corporate and field operations management, and joint venture partners, as well as internal and external audit agencies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

 

  • Process Improvement:
  • Understand business processes and collaborate with teammates to provide technical solutions to improve efficiency of processes and data management.
  • Develop, trouble-shoot, and automate account reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and tools.
  • Identify and investigate data inconsistencies, and system and process opportunities, providing recommendations to ensure the integrity of revenue data in the GL.
  • Propose ideas, document requirements and test for data quality during the implementation or modification of data in revenue related systems.
  • Implement solutions and follow-up on issues to drive forward projects.
  • Provide frequent project updates regarding the status of activities and initiatives.
  • Address complex inquiries from teammates/customers.
  • Lead projects utilizing innovative problem solving tactics.
  • Reporting / Analytics:
  • Prepare, modify, and develop selected recurring and ad-hoc financial schedules and related notes for management reporting.
  • Prepare communications such as memos, charts, graphs and process documentation.
  • Provide reporting to identify and interpret revenue trends and explain fluctuations.
  • Prepare, design, and develop analysis and detailed reporting on business drivers in preparation for revenue review and strategic business initiatives.
  • Develop efficient and standardized methods for validating complex datasets and reporting.
  • Become proficient in all areas of the revenue cycle and able to support and provide recommendations, via business acumen and technical knowledge.
  • Understand and establish business logic and metrics.
  • Turn abstract concepts into decision making tools and reporting.
    • Other:
    • Meet tight deadlines in a time sensitive and resource constrained environment.
    • Identify, recommend and enact opportunities for learning and teachings within the team
    • Attend meetings, phone conferences, and trainings.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
    • Travel required: up to 5%

Requirements for Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area required or a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in related area may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years' IT experience required including:
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience coordinating and/or supporting IT business processes required
  • Demonstrated understanding of requirements gathering, development, QA, deployment, and support methodologies including Help Desk ticket routing and SDLC required
  • Experience with vendor relations including tracking agreements, escalating and resolving issues, and coordinating multiple vendor relationships required
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy operations and management systems preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
