The Director of Business Development is responsible for the creation and execution of a comprehensive growth strategy for the hospitals located in Maryland, West Virginia Delaware, etc. This role will preferably be based out of Baltimore, MD. This position is responsible for increasing the number of partner hospitals within assigned territory, ultimately resulting in increased acute care contracts, discharge planning services and increased number of patient treatments. This position develops and implements a sales strategy for the assigned territory and oversees the sales process including internal relationship development, external sales and assists with contract negotiations. This position will support and integrate with the field operations teams through involvement in market planning, strategic sales, and client relationship management processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop a Portfolio of Hospitals Create and implement a sales strategy utilizing effective consultative sales techniques and processes Manage all aspects of the sales process including but not limited to target identification, lead generation, intel gathering, internal team development and leadership, sales presentations and contract negotiation assistance. Develop in-depth knowledge of DaVita's hospital service offerings, markets, current market share within the market, competition and strategy to secure new and renewed business Complete detailed reporting to senior leadership Market to hospitals; provide solutions that highlight the benefits of DaVita's services Identify key hospital stakeholders responsible for purchasing DVA services Develop strong, positive relationships with C-suite hospital executives Present strong business case to all levels internally and externally Maintain ongoing relationships with hospitals in the portfolio; conduct continuous strategic planning on how to improve the DaVita/hospital partnership Meet or exceed established sales goals Build Relationships with Field Team Partner with Divisional Vice Presidents, Regional Operating Directors and Acute program teammates to identify sales targets Develop, train and lead internal teams to interact with C-Suite executives and other key decision makers and influencers within the hospital Update local operations leadership on the progress and impact of sales strategies Growth Initiatives Maintain customer and prospect information in contact management database Participate in special projects as needed Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned including but not limited to: Attend team meetings, phone conferences and training as needed Know, understand and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies and department or company procedures Travel required: up to 75% (Education, licenses, certifications and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required) Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Sales Management experience strongly preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years hospital C-suite business development or sales experience required Demonstrated confident understanding of the current hospital environment and ability to clearly articulate the key issues facing hospital executives Experience in kidney care or the dialysis industry preferred Clinical background and experience preferred Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
