Job Description: 

The Payor Contracting Team is looking for a forward thinking, strong leader to join a team of exceptional teammates. The Payor Contracting Supervisor is responsible for supervising, training, and providing mentorship and direction to the Payor Contracting team. Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels within an organization, navigate the complexities of contract terminology and use their analytical and problem solving skills to guide the team toward their goals.

 

This position ensures that the administration of the company's contract portfolio is done timely and accurately, looks for opportunities in process improvement, and promotes leadership within the team.  This position also reports key performance metrics and performs ad hoc analysis to support department goals and objectives. 

 

 Position has full supervisory responsibility for recruitment, hiring, retention, performance development, performance management, teammate relations, salary adjustments, and termination of direct reports.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
  • Supervise daily operations and serve as department subject matter expect in translation of payor contracts and  facility contracting
  • Respond to issues, concerns, and questions
  • Conduct formal and ad hoc training
  • Ensure new and existing contract changes are reviewed and directed to appropriate teams supporting the billing process in timely manner for revenue accuracy  
  • Authorize changes, announcements in communication tools, and customer reports to ensure all systems and parties have current billing information
  • Perform ad hoc analyses of contractual performance for management review
  • Evaluate and report key performance metrics
  • Create and distribute reports to management
  • Provide recommendations in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures and system and workflow improve processes
  • Participate in department meetings, teams, and committees
  • Travel required: up to 5%
  • Teammate Management
  • Provide leadership to direct reports
  • Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered during projects
  • Manage all teammate employment activity such as hiring, promoting, job performance, evaluations, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals as required
  • Address teammate relations issues appropriately and escalate to Manager as necessary
  • Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates all DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and foster a positive work environment
  • Ensure all DaVita employment processes are completed timely and in compliance with DaVita policy and any applicable laws including but not limited to ePCNs, Performance Development Reviews, teammate personnel file maintained, etc.
  • Facilitate teammate development (PDRs, coaching, mentoring, DaVita training, outside training); collaborate with direct reports to create professional development goals
  • Maintain familiarity with and communicate to teammates DaVita programs impacting teammates (including but not limited to: Triple Crown, We Are Here, Tuition Reimbursement, Foundations, etc.)
  • Provide work direction for department teammates
  • Determine staffing plans that promote the most effective use of all teammates; ensure coverage during teammate absences
  • Know and understand basic wage and hour laws, federal, state and local laws and regulations, Medicare, and legislation affecting employment
  • Review and approve time cards of hourly direct reports for bi-weekly payroll
  • Track overtime, attendance, and PTO
  • Develop and conduct educational programs to keep teammates up-to-date on DaVita policies, new laws and regulations impacting work, and other information necessary to maintain teammates' knowledge of department processes and goals
  • Know, understand, follow, and implement DaVita safety and security policies and procedures

Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in related area required or a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in related area may be substituted in lieu of degree on a year-for-year basis
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in healthcare reimbursement operations, claims payable, claims administration or related area required  
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and implementation required 
  • Minimum of two (2) years'  supervisory experience in related area required
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook required; basic PowerPoint and Oracle Discover/Spider skills required within 90 days of employment or position change
