Job Description: 
The Payor Contracting Team is looking for an motivated, critical-thinking, Payor Contracting Specialist.  Payor Contracting serves a critical role in enabling DaVita to provide life-saving care to its patients by negotiating agreements with health insurance companies. Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels within an organization, navigate the complexities of contract terminology and use their detail-oriented problem solving skills to administer the terms of the companies contract portfolio. This is a dynamic team where everyone has the ability to make a significant contribution.
 
Responsibilities include researching contract language, analyzing facility data, and communicating accurately and appropriately with health insurance companies and internal DaVita teams.  
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
  • Review contracts for language strength to document and track portfolio performance
  • Research contract language for ad hoc requests from Payor Contracting leadership
  • Respond to inquiries on facility contracting from internal and external sources
  • Prepare and send official notices to payors per contractual requirements
  • Understand contracting strategies to analyze payor/facility relationships
  • Participate in meetings with other departmental teams and committees as necessary to facilitate solutions on payor issues
  • Evaluate and report key performance metrics to department management
  • Provide recommendations to improve system policies, procedures and performance
  • Participate in team activities that promote DaVita culture and core values
  • Understand and follow DaVita and department teammate safety and security policies
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Work overtime with little or no notice as needed
  • Attend team meetings, phone conferences and training as needed
  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
  • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' healthcare claims administration, contracting, or payor experience
  • Analytical mind set
  • Strong communication skills a MUST!
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Access
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in related field
  • Paralegal degree or certificate
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare contracts
  • Basic familiarity with Oracle Financial System and an electronic billing system strongly preferred!
