SUMMARY OF BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
 
The Acute Education Manager functions as the Clinical Education resource to the company's acute programs.  The Acute Education Manager plays a key role in the implementation of training initiatives that provide a successful learning experience for all new and experienced acute teammates.
Responsible for the development and  implementation of acute educational programs to improve clinical training and education, project management and support for the acute teammates
 
SOME DETAILS ABOUT THIS POSITION:
While this position will hold a national presence, we are very flexible and can have this position based out of anywhere in the US.
This position will be directly involved in Acute Program Development, as well as providing education and training in the field.
This position requires at least 5 years of dialysis experience and 1 year within an Acute setting. Preceptor experience is an absolute plus!
Certified Nephrology Nurse is preferred, or, desire to aquire CNN within a reasonable amount of time once acquiring this position.
50% travel is expected in this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 
1.       Work in collaboration and coordination with the CSS team to ensure continuity and integrity of all acute training programs
2.       Educate, train and collaborate with CSS team to ensure acute training programs are being completed as outlined in the Acute training and preceptor manuals
3.       Lead the continued development of a DaVita standardized Acute Training Program complete with objectives and content for orientation, skill assessment, education, independent study and ongoing evaluation. 
4.       Develop plan to assist CSS  team with Acute Teammates whose final exam scores are sub-standard
  1. Ensure the team is providing support for and development of the acute clinical preceptors.
6.       Conduct onsite clinic visits to provide follow up assessment and learning reinforcement for class participants
  1. Coordinate approval of DaVita specific CE programs for presentation for Acute Training and other Acute meetings
  2. Participates in All Acute conference calls
  3. Participates in Acute Advance meetings
  4. Participates in the development of Acute BDP's
  5. Coordinates CRRT training and information sharing for Acute teammates, Nephrologists and Hospitals
  6. Ensures the implementation and further development of DaVita's Acute CQI/AOR process
  7. Identifies opportunities for development and implementation of special research projects designed to enhance and improve DaVita's Acute Services
  8. Work together with Acute Service and the Ops teams to evaluate patient, physician and customer satisfaction surveys to identify needed changes to the customer service process
  9. Regularly contributes ideas to streamline operational and clinical procedures via information technology systems
  10. Monitor implementation and report on company acute program initiatives
  11. Identify issues that require the establishment of Acute Policies and Procedures or recommend modification to existing policies and procedures.
  12. Data collation, trending and reporting as requested.
  13. Ensure the timely completion of acute clinical training use of CTA.

·         Degree in Nursing with five years of nephrology experience and a minimum of 1 year acute experience
·         Certified Nephrology Nurse preferred
·         Possesses strong communication skills, both written and oral
·         Demonstrates an ability to manage and mentor people
·         Ability to utilize resources to accomplish all key metrics
·         Team building and coaching/mentoring skills.
