The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. - Drive clinical and operational outcomes
- Ensure that compliance and audit requirements are met
- Achieve productivity ratios as well as budget targets for operational goals through the use and/or implementation of the appropriate tools
- Develop improvement plans for outliers
- Support market development and growth
- Develop strategic growth initiatives as needed
- Support the integration process of acquisitions with the region as needed
- Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship between the assigned facility FAs, ROD, and Director of Operations HHD/PD to ensure that clinical and financial goals are monitored and met
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by ROD and/or DVP
- Travel required: up to 50% depending on territory
Financial Management - Participate in budget formulation; review staffing, scheduling needs, and patient loads
- Assist designated Facility Administrators with budget management
- Supervise inventory management including purchasing, product selection, and supply usage
- Ensure patient and treatment charge information and other related data are accurate and submitted to the DaVita Corporate Office in timely manner
Oversee Patient Care Management - Recommend, implement, and administer policies, procedures, and resources to ensure safe, appropriate treatment of patients
- Oversee nursing and technical services for patient treatment; ensure that appropriate adjustments in treatment plans are developed, implemented, and comply with state and federal governing agencies
- Ensure development and implementation of policies, procedures, and resources to help patients assume responsibility for their own health maintenance
- Develop rapport with patients and manage patient concerns appropriately
- If Avanti Home Operations Administrator is not a registered nurse, work collaboratively with designated clinical Home teammate(s) to manage Home patient care services according to state-specific guidelines
- Ensure communication and continuity of planned care is maintained for patients transferred to other DaVita facilities
- Maintain open communication with all healthcare providers concerning patient care
Risk Management/Quality Assurance Compliance - Assist with the preparation of data summaries for internal audit purposes
- Ensure compliance with DaVita policies and procedures in accordance with State and Federal regulations for patient care and services (including but not limited to HIPAA, CMS, OSHA, or other governing agencies)
- Ensure compliance with state or federal regulations of the Teammate Injury Prevention and Safety Training program and assist as necessary
- Assist with the creation and implementation of any corrective actions needed as a result of internal or external audits or as required by CMS, OSHA, or other governing agencies
- Participate in quality assurance programs and/or CQI projects as needed
Facility/Equipment Management - Ensure appropriate and adequate equipment and supplies are proactively maintained
- Assist with identification and plans for prompt corrective actions required for any issues with building safety or equipment and systems
- Participate in the development and periodic revision of policies and procedures with the Regional Operations Director and/or Medical Director to ensure consistent, efficient, and safe operation of the facility
Teammate Management - Plan, organize and supervise nursing, technical, and biomedical teammates to ensure high quality patient care according to company policy
- Ensure all required teammate licensures are current
- Provide leadership to direct reports and/or in collaboration with Facility Administrator
- Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered during projects
- Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates all DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and foster a positive work environment
- Manage all teammate employment activity such as hiring, promoting, job performance, evaluations, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals as required
- Ensure all DaVita employment processes are completed timely and in compliance with DaVita policy and any applicable laws including but not limited to ePCNs, Performance Development Reviews, teammate personnel file maintained, etc.
- Facilitate teammate development (PDRs, coaching, mentoring, DaVita training, outside training); collaborate with direct reports to create professional development goals
- Maintain familiarity with and communicate to teammates DaVita programs impacting teammates including but not limited to Triple Crown
- Provide work direction for department teammates
- Determine staffing plans that promote the most effective use of all teammates; ensure coverage during teammate absences
- Understand basic wage and hour laws, federal, state and local laws and regulations, Medicare, and legislation affecting employment
- Review and approve time cards of direct reports for bi-weekly payroll
- Track overtime, attendance, and PTO
- Develop and/or conduct educational programs to keep teammates up-to-date on DaVita policies, new laws and regulations impacting work, and other information necessary to maintain teammates' knowledge of department processes and goals
- Maintain and communicate facility emergency management programs and ability to act swiftly, confidently in an emergency
- Know, understand, follow, and implement DaVita safety and security policies and procedures
(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required) - Associate's degree in related field required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in state of employment preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in healthcare management required
- If HHD/PD Operations Administrator is RN, a minimum of one (1) year's work experience as RN with applicable modality experience as determined by CMS required
- Experience with multi-site management preferred
- Minimum of six (6) months ESRD experience required; minimum of two (2) years' experience in dialysis preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- Other qualifications and combinations of skills may be considered at discretion of ROD and/or DVP
- Functional proficiency in all required computer systems of DaVita including but not limited to Outlook, SNAPPY, DUCK, etc. within 60 days of hire or promotion required
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
