OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:

Liberty Dialysis Victoria is now looking for the right person to join our team as a Dialysis Biomedical Technician!  You'll be responsible for all machine / equipment maintenance including, but not limited to, the hemodialysis machines, water treatment, related clinical equipment, computers and minor facility repairs.

The duties and responsibilities of the Center Biomedical Technician include, but are not limited to the following;

  • Follows all company policies and procedures, is active in revision of such policies and procedures as related to changes in industry standards and Federal / State Regulations.

  • Maintain machines and equipment in conformance with manufacturers guidelines and makes necessary repairs for clinic and inpatient program with appropriate documentation according to industry standards.

  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies. Insures that necessary documentation, i.e., purchase orders and packing slips are submitted to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.

  • Collects necessary water samples per AAMI standards, reviews and interprets results notifying Regional Biomed, Nurse Manager, or designee and Medical Director of problematic results and reports these findings in quality assurance meetings.

  • Oversees and evaluates the water system through analysis and direct measurement of operating parameters.

  • Controls and distributes all supplies used in clinic, keeping an inventory at appropriate levels.

  • Participates in the evaluation of new equipment.

  • Maintains open verbal and written communication with all staff on matters of a technical nature.

  • Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement of the unit.

  • Participates in cost containment.

  • Prepares and submits reports as needed on a timely basis.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

  • Participates in periodic inventory counts.

  • Accurately records and maintains all required logbooks.

  • Troubleshoots mechanical problems with machines and equipment.

  • Performs monthly inspection and documentation to include physical plant and grounds, inspection of center safety devices such as fire extinguishers, fire and security systems, emergency, exit and external lights and immediately reports problems to Regional Biomed Technician.

  • Participates in staff, technical, educational and quality improvement meetings.

  • Maintains all regulated medical waste manifests and logs.

  • Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets.

  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Biomedical Technician and Clinical Administrator or designee.


  • REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.

    • Completion of a hemo-dialysis training program / or equivalent dialysis experience preferred. 

    • Valid State driver's license. 

    • Leadership and effective communication skills. Extensive knowledge of a hydraulics, electronics and maintenance of dialysis machines and equipment used in the hemodialysis facility.

    • College course work in chemistry, physics and electronics is desirable.

    • CPR certification required.

    • Ability to communicate and work harmoniously with others.

    • Ability to lift objects greater than 50 pounds.

    • Ability to work odd shifts during long periods of workday.

    • Available to supplement Biomedical services at nearby Liberty units.
