Summary : For multiple centers, supports the management of patient insurance coverage, verification and processing procedures. Coordinates all aspects of patient healthcare coverage for End Stage Renal Disease by planning, organizing and directing measures and activities which ensure optimal insurance coverage for each patient, accurate documentation of patient insurance verification and information. Adheres to Renal Advantage, Inc. policies, CMS regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements related to healthcare coverage and reimbursement. Ensures that private payor/carrier coverage processes and procedures are followed in assigned facilities.
Job Description:
1. Monthly direct communication with focus patients to determine if any changes in status (assess potential problems and keep patient information current in QMS)
2. Build strong working relationships with Center team to focus on assessing focus patient needs and maintaining coverage.
3. Work closely with RD's, referring physicians and discharge planners to attract patients to their center.
4. Educate center staff and physicians about insurance in their region and how to talk with patients and their families about financial matters including COB, MSP's, changes in insurance coverage, RAI billing statements and co-payments, (High level understanding).
5. Escalate process issues between centers and Revenue Cycle Intake team to increase accuracy of data, improve turnaround of the intake process and reduce missing forms; act as face of the Revenue Cycle team and escalate process issues your direct supervisor.
6. Advise RD 's of the special needs and issues related to focus patients and paying and non paying patients in a timely manner using the Liability report.
7. Monitor and communicate status of focus patients monthly to the Center team. Provide the necessary reports, information, and statistics on all patients to RD's, CD's, SW's, and US's.
8. Serve as a "goodwill ambassador" for RAI by demonstrating the core values of integrity, accountability, caring and teamwork in all interactions with insurance companies and outside agencies. IACT
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of one year experience including healthcare accounts receivable, healthcare medical records systems, and knowledge of ESRD reimbursement. Position requires the ability to prioritize and problem-solve. Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently and have excellent follow through skills. Solid deductive reasoning, integrity, team orientation, technical knowledge and communications skills are important to performing in this position successfully.
