RenaLab is an independent clinical laboratory dedicated to the needs of the dialysis patient and those that care for them. Currently, RenaLab employs 94 individuals and is projected to perform 2.4 million lab procedures in 2007. The Laboratory is strategically located in Richland , Mississippi which allows for the best options for the overnight transfer of testing specimens from anywhere in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii . Summary : The employee receives and processes specimens to prepare them for testing by the lab technical staff. The employee also prepares transport boxes for return to dialysis facilities.
Job Description:
The essential functions of the job Specimen Processor at RenaLab include, but are not limited to the following behavioral dimensions:
I. PROCESSOR
Examples of tasks contained in this behavioral dimension include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Removes samples from transport boxes, sorts them and places them in the proper tube racks. 2. Scans tube barcode labels and centrifuges tubes as needed. 3. Delivers tubes to appropriate department for testing. 4. Troubleshoots specimen problems as needed, and determines whether dialysis facility should be notified. 5. Resolves post scan weekly for units processed.
II. SHIPPING TRANSPORT BOXES
Examples of tasks contained in this behavioral dimension include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Sorts and groups transport boxes together for return to dialysis facilities. 2. Checks boxes to see that all samples have been removed and repairs boxes, as needed, prior to returning.
Job Requirements:
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience : 5 Years or Bachelor of Business Degree
