- Associates Degree - ~CB~ - At least 1 year of Dialysis Experience Medical Laboratory Technician I / RenaLab
RenaLab is an independent clinical laboratory dedicated to the needs of the dialysis patient and those that care for them. Currently, RenaLab employs 94 individuals and is projected to perform 2.4 million lab procedures in 2007. The Laboratory is strategically located in Richland , Mississippi which allows for the best options for the overnight transfer of testing specimens from anywhere in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii . Summary : The employee performs laboratory analysis of various patient samples and reports results with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner; properly maintains laboratory equipment; provides appropriate documentation for accrediting agencies; maintains own professional development; works cooperatively with other employees.
Job Description:
· Receives and accessions specimens · Aliquots and accurately labels specimens · Evaluates specimens and tests orders · Reports problems related to specimens and test orders to supervisor · Maintains proper documentation of specimen problems, corrective actions taken, and problem resolutions. · Archives and stores specimens properly.
Job Requirements:
Education : Associate degree from an approved school of Medical Laboratory Technology
Experience : Licensure or certification is not required for graduates of an associated degree program in Medical Laboratory Technology; however, Medical Laboratory Technician certification by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathology is preferred.
