Job Description:  Lincoln City Dialysis Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work in our Beautiful Dialysis Facility. We are seeking a RN with at least 6 months experience in dialysis. Full time/Part Time/Per Diem positions available.

The Registered Hemodialysis Nurse is assigned to patients in the chronic hospital setting to provide hemodialysis services.

Requirements Include:

  • Reading and taking physicians' orders
  • Completing an assessment of the patient including: observation, plan, implementation, and evaluation of nursing patient care
  • Calculation of the amount of fluid to be removed if necessary
  • Basic knowledge of dialysis machines
  • Set-up and breakdown
  • Preparation of dialysate
  • Understanding of machine safety features
  • Assessment of types of access of hemodialysis
  • Graft or fistula with positive thrill/bruit
  • Catheter patency
  • Location of graft
  • Basic understanding of initiation and discontinuation of Hemodialysis
  • Providing safe treatment, remaining at patient's bedside during treatment
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Monitor vital signs and status of patient at initiation of treatment and every thirty minutes or more frequently as needed, and at discontinuation of treatment provide assistance with nutritional needs, if patient tolerates, during treatment
  • Administer medications as ordered by physician
  • Administer blood and blood products as ordered by physician
  • Follow procedures as written in cases of unusual occurrences, completing all required reporting and terminating dialysis if required
  • Able to identify signs and symptoms of hypovolemia, hypotension, or any life-threatening condition
  • Knowledge of EKG
  • Documents report given to primary R.N. at the termination of treatment

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

A minimum of one year current active post-graduate experience in an acute hospital.  Minimum of one year I.C.U. experience or Certified Hemodialysis course and/or six months training in a chronic dialysis center.
